Where is it?

Reviewing the search:

Conceiving the search
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

Memo to Yosemite Sam and Anonymous:
Remember, this search is for an original single piece of paper, which may or may not still physically exist.

It is NOT a search for copies of the ARTIFACT. Nor is it meant to be a forum for discussing its content. Such a dialogue may belong to a future blog thread, but not this one.

Revising search strategy.
Since the diaries of former Mormon Church president David O. McKay, which are contained in the archives of the University of Utah Special Collections library, have not yet been digitized, they are not accessible for public on-line inspection. This then requires an inspection by proxy, which is being done by a young, bright university student assigned by the Special Collections curator.

First three steps for student researcher regarding diaries of David O. McKay:

Time periods to explore:
1. 1957  June-July In Laguna Beach, CA (Laguna Beach Ward). Look for:
    a. names Ferren L. Christensen; Eugene Kregg
    b. mention of potential Russian mission

2. 1965
     a. mid-to end of January. Look also for Clare Middlemiss notations to diaries and any mention of special delivery "eyes only" (signature of addressee requirement) package from Dr. Eugene N. Kovalenko from General Atomic Corporation.
     b. September 26+. mention of hand-written poems from "E.N.Kovalenko".(These are in the LDS Church archives.)

3. 1968 Late August through September. Look for communications from Stake President Ferren L. Christensen.
