Attending the 2010 IRVA conference in Las Vegas

Posted: 22 June 2010
Updated: 29 June 2010

Until this year I have avoided attending the IRVA conferences for reasons I cannot explain. But this time I felt compelled to attend for at least three reasons. The first was to reconnect with the association president, Paul H. Smith, an old friend from Sunstone Symposium days, author of Reading the Enemy's Mind (2005) and remote viewer par excellence, whom I had not seen for almost two decades. Except for our respective name tags, we would not have recognized each other. I wanted to inform him about the RPK experiment with Jack Houck. Paul was responsive to the informal RPK report and invited me to make a formal presentation in the same place at next year's conference.

See here for this year's speakers and topics plus my comments on two presentations I found the most interesting.

The second reason was to make an informal report on my on-going RPK Experiment, Phase 3 (Victoria) and meet with Victoria Alexander for strategic planning of RPK Phase 3, as well as recruit potential participants for RPK Phase 4 (Spooks). See here for the RPK Experiment.

The third and not least reason was to spend time before the conference with my second oldest grandson, Josh Johnson and his young family who live in north Las Vegas. See here for that report.

Commenting on a comment from "Anonymous"

Returning home late last night (Monday) stiff, tired and reflective, after a 12+ hour drive from Las Vegas to Los Alamos, still in the after-glow of having attended the three-day annual IRVA (International Remote Viewing Association) conference,  I found the notice below in my email inbox. My first reaction was to click the reject link, which is irreversible.

However, after a good night's sleep and a good stretching morning walk, I changed my mind and retrieved the email notice. "Anonymous" may have something I need to consider after all. "He" is probably voicing the sentiments of others, who are less inclined to express themselves forthrightly, not the least of which is my son Michael.

Before commenting further, allow me to acknowledge "...all this other crazy stuff."   Yes! dear nameless one, my stuff is certainly "crazy"! (George Carlin comes to mind...) And though you indignantly ask, I may not be able to tell you "what's wrong" in a way you will understand. That depends on you and your intention in writing. More below.
Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "The latest about son Michael and his "ENKervension...":
How sad that you have to post this old letter to your son online along with all this other crazy stuff. Some old fart cop psychologist who thinks he's a lawyer helps you to justify yourself against your own family? I feel sorry for you on Father's Day. And what a jerk that you contacted Mihael's old girlfriend to see if he got the letter, what two years ago? That's creepy. What's wrong with you man? Some father you are. Glad I'm not your son. I'd be pissed. ... Posted by Anonymous to The Journey continues at June 20, 2010 10:34 PM
Dear Anon, I'm glad you're not my son, too, since you don't seem to reflect much. Do you know my Michael? He has been "pissed" at me for over two years. Perhaps you can help bridge the impasse?! Don't pull your punches; I won't pull mine. And I would be grateful.

Eugene said...Further comment to Anon's comment. Today (Thursday) I received a note from my friend Joseph Dillard alerting me to his newest IDL interview of a recent dream. In recent years Joseph has taught me to value dreaming identity over waking identity. You may think this further evidence of "crazy stuff", but I suggest you give him careful consideration. You might find yourself waking up to new awareness by clicking here.

And one more comment. About "Some old fart cop psychologist..."  You couldn't have known about Dr. Price without having read a different blog than this one, where he presented a gift to the Great Human Family Round Table.  That gift was for more than my nuclear family to which you are invited to sit if you can get by the two guardian angels and if you bring a gift of your own. Did you not understand that? Do you consider your comment a gift?  I do, but the others might not agree.

Dream Yoga interview of "With Rex in car".

Dream Yoga
(With Rex in Car)

Date of interview: June 1-2, 2010

What are three fundamental life issues that you are dealing with now in your life?

1.  Getting up to date with Los Alamos Open Forum (LAOF)
2.  Preparing RPK Experiment for Las Vegas IRVA conference
3.  Preparing to discuss CREEI process with missionaries and LAOF participants

Tell me a dream you remember...

Sunday, 23 May 2010             With Rex in car
With Rex Mitchell in car. I'm driving and say "It's so important to stay focused and easy to get distracted (derailed?). Rex nods in understanding and agreement.

Why do you think that you had this life experience?

On the previous Saturday I had a conference call with the Crystal Group of which Rex is a member. We discussed personal issues as usual, especially my months earlier request for a letter from each member about their experience with the CREEI process that I could use in various ways locally.

I think back to when Rex and I first became acquainted in Berkeley First Ward in 1958 not long before I experienced a first transpersonal experience in spring 1959 (http://orthodoxodyssey.blogspot.com/2009/01/call.html), believing it had to do with a potential Mormon mission to Russia and my initial attempt to enlist Rex's support.

If it were playing at a theater, what name would be on the marquee?

With Rex in car

These are the characters in the experience…

Rex, car, self.

If a character had something especially important to tell you, which
would it be?

Car

(Character,) would you please tell me what you look like and what you
are doing?

I am a small hard top sports car, which Eugene is driving with Rex in passenger seat.

What do you like most about yourself in this experience? What are your
strengths?

I am well made with plenty of power to navigate in any terrain at Eugene's disposal.

What do you dislike most about yourself? Do you have weaknesses? What?

Nothing to dislike.

If you could change this experience in any way you wanted, would you?
If so, how would you change it?

No, it is not my job to change anything.

If that experience were to continue, what would happen next?

Something different from what happened to Eugene and Brother Whiteshirt. Eugene has something in mind to discuss with Rex and wants Rex's counsel.

(Character,) if you could be anywhere you wanted to be and take any
form you desired, would you change? If so, how?

No.

(You are in this person’s dream or life experience, correct? They
created you, right?)

Yes

(Character), what aspect of this person do you represent or most
closely personify?

A means for getting around in the world that is attractive to Eugene's friends and colleagues.

If you could live this person’s waking life for him/her, how would you
live it differently?

I wouldn't

If you could live this person’s waking life for him/her today, would
you handle his/her three life issues differently? If so, how?

What three life issues would you focus on if you were in charge of
his/her life?

Not my job

How would you score yourself 0-10, in confidence, compassion, wisdom,
acceptance, peace of mind, and witnessing? And why?

Confidence: 10.
Compassion: 0 (don't care what happens)
Wisdom: 0 (don't care what happens)
Acceptance: 10. (I accept anything Eugene or Rex does.)
Peace of mind: 10. (Always at peace)
Witnessing: 10. (Always aware)

(Character,) if you scored tens in all six of these qualities, would
you be different? If so, how?

Of course. I'd be able to make decisions

How would this person’s life be different if he/she naturally scored
high in all six of these qualities all the time?

Eugene would be able to respond effectively to any situation.

In what life situations would it be most beneficial for this person to
imagine that they are you and act as you would?

Not my job to think or advise about this.

Why do you think that you are in this life experience (or dream)?

Oh, maybe to get Eugene into a better relationship with his friend Rex.

(Dreamer,) what have you heard yourself say? (Read them over)

I am taking an initiative with a smart means of getting around in the world with a close friend and hope to gain his support and confidence.

If this experience were a wake-up call from your soul, what do you
think it would be saying to you?

You are on a journey with a close friend. Stay focused on the relationship and its purpose and do not allow yourself to get distracted.

If a second character had something especially important to tell you, which
would it be?

Rex

(Character,) would you please tell me what you look like and what you
are doing?

I am a tall, slender, fit and graying man in my early 70s. I am with Gene in his car because I care about him and what he does. He often surprises me, but we have been the best of friends for over 50 years.

What do you like most about yourself in this experience? What are your
strengths?

I like it that I care about my friend. He can count on me. I am dependable, responsive, responsible, knowledgeable and thoughtful.

What do you dislike most about yourself? Do you have weaknesses? What?

The only thing that comes to mind is not having made stronger comments to Gene long ago in summer 1965.  But I have corrected that since, which may be why we are driving together now.

If you could change this experience in any way you wanted, would you?
If so, how would you change it?

There is nothing I would change at the moment, but I'm confident I would have something to say if the experience would get weird like Gene's experience with Brother Whiteshirt.

If that experience were to continue, what would happen next?

I am waiting to learn what Gene has in mind and where he wants us to go together.

(Character,) if you could be anywhere you wanted to be and take any
form you desired, would you change? If so, how?

No change. I'm interested and amused to be here.

(You are in this person’s dream or life experience, correct? They
created you, right?)

Yes, I'm confident I am a projection of Gene. I'm also confident that I'm a reasonably accurate projection of his.

(Character), what aspect of this person do you represent or most
closely personify?

It is clear that Gene has a caring, knowledgeable, confident, competent and responsible side to him beyond what others might see, such as his family, professional colleagues and certain church leaders.

If you could live this person’s waking life for him/her, how would you
live it differently?

I would not want to live it differently. I'm generally fascinated with what Gene thinks or does next, even though I wouldn't have done the same thing.

If you could live this person’s waking life for him/her today, would
you handle his/her three life issues differently? If so, how?

It seems to me he is handling them quite well. I don't have anything to add or offer.

What three life issues would you focus on if you were in charge of
his/her life?

Well, I think I would focus more on his family, especially his wife Birgitta.

How would you score yourself 0-10, in confidence, compassion, wisdom,
acceptance, peace of mind, and witnessing?

Confidence: 10.
Compassion: 10.
Wisdom: 10.
Acceptance: 10.
Peace of mind: 10.
Witnessing: 8. I'm unsure about some aspects of the spirit and emotional worlds.

(Character,) if you scored tens in all six of these qualities, would
you be different? If so, how?

I would be more confident in my counsel to Gene on spiritual matters.

How would this person’s life be different if he/she naturally scored
high in all six of these qualities all the time?

Gene would be in harmony with his community and family in addition to being in harmony with us in the Crystal Group.

In what life situations would it be most beneficial for this person to
imagine that they are you and act as you would?

I think he could benefit by becoming me in his Los Alamos Open Forum project, as well as with his RPK Experiment when interacting with others such as Norma, Victoria, and other strong and sensitive people.

Why do you think that you are in this life experience (or dream)?

To give Gene a stronger sense of support, companionship and confidence.

(Dreamer,) what have you heard yourself say? (Read them over)

Rex has appeared in addition to Brother Whiteshirt to give Eugene a more immediate and familiar sense of confidence, counsel and companionship because of our long, unfailing friendship.

If this experience were a wake-up call from your soul, what do you
think it would be saying to you?

Be joyful, Eugene, wherever you are going. You are with the dearest of friends.
